Description

SPiCE (Sandringham Project in Community Empowerment) is a community-led organisation based in Sandringham, Auckland—a suburb celebrated for its vibrant, diverse community, renowned South Asian cuisine, and rich Art Deco heritage.

Sandringham is a wonderful place to live, work, study, and enjoy, and at SPiCE, our mission is to bring the community together to make it even better!

Here’s a glimpse of some of the community-building events we’ve hosted in the past:

  • Sandringham Spring Festival – A day of local food, crafts, live music, and activities for families to celebrate the arrival of spring.
  • Lantern-Making Workshop – Held before our annual Winter Lantern Parade, this hands-on event allowed community members to craft their own beautiful lanterns.
  • Community Garden Day – A gathering for green thumbs and beginners alike, focused on building and maintaining our shared garden space.
  • Neighbourhood Cleanup Day – A local initiative bringing together residents to tidy up shared spaces and build pride in our streets.
  • SPiCE Cultural Exchange Evenings – Monthly events where people can share their heritage, from food and traditions to stories and music, promoting cross-cultural understanding and friendships.

We’d love for you to join us in future events, projects, and initiatives to make Sandringham even more lively and welcoming!  Please visit out website for more information about projects and events.
