Timebanking

Timebanking is a unique system where time, rather than money, is the currency. In a timebank, members exchange skills, services, and goods within their community, valuing everyone’s time equally. There are currently 30 timebanks operating in New Zealand, each fostering a spirit of mutual support and cooperation.

Timebanking offers several benefits, including building connected and resilient communities. By helping one another, members strengthen social ties and create a supportive network where everyone’s contributions are valued. This system not only encourages the sharing of skills and resources but also promotes a more inclusive and cooperative community.
